Saudi Arabia TGA & WASL Compliance

Fleetbooks is certified under Saudi Arabia's Transport General Authority framework and fully integrated with the WASL platform. Vehicle movements, trip records, and sensor data are transmitted to the authorities automatically — with no manual reporting steps on your part.

Whether you operate a commercial delivery fleet, a logistics company, or manage government-contracted vehicles, Fleetbooks keeps you compliant from the moment a vehicle starts moving.

What TGA and WASL require

The Transport General Authority mandates that commercial fleets operating in Saudi Arabia report vehicle movement data to the WASL platform in real time. This includes trip start and end events, continuous position updates, driver identification, and any driving behavior events recorded by the device.

Vehicles must be fitted with TGA-approved tracking hardware that meets specific standards for GPS accuracy, transmission frequency, and tamper resistance. Failure to comply can result in operating license suspension or financial penalties.

How Fleetbooks handles it

Fleetbooks connects directly to the WASL API and pushes required data automatically as events occur on the road. There is no batch upload process, no manual data entry, and no risk of a missed reporting window due to a human error.

A dedicated compliance dashboard shows the live reporting status for every vehicle. If a device goes offline or stops transmitting, it is flagged immediately so the issue can be resolved before it becomes a compliance gap.

What gets reported to WASL

Fleetbooks handles all four categories of data required by the platform.

Trip Events

Trip start, in-progress updates, and trip end are pushed to WASL in real time as they happen on the road.

Vehicle Position

GPS coordinates, speed, and heading are reported continuously throughout each trip at TGA-specified intervals.

Driver Data

Driver identification, assignment records, and driving behavior events are included with each trip submission.

Device Status

Device health, connectivity status, and any tampering events are reported to maintain compliance integrity.

Full compliance checklist

Every TGA requirement is addressed out of the box. There is nothing additional to configure or integrate before your fleet is compliant.

  • Real-time position reporting
  • Trip start and end event submission
  • Driver identification and assignment
  • Speed and harsh event recording
  • TGA-certified GPS hardware
  • WASL API integration
  • Tamper detection and alerts
  • Compliance status dashboard

Who it applies to

TGA compliance is a legal requirement for commercial vehicle operators in Saudi Arabia — not optional for any covered fleet.

01

Commercial Fleet Operators

Any fleet operating under a TGA-regulated commercial transport license must report to WASL. Fleetbooks ensures every vehicle in the fleet is reporting correctly and flags any that are not.

02

Logistics and Transport Companies

For companies moving goods across Saudi Arabia, demonstrating consistent WASL compliance is often a condition of shipper contracts and logistics tenders.

03

Government and Municipal Fleets

Public sector tenders and government contracts in Saudi Arabia increasingly require full TGA compliance. Fleetbooks provides the auditable WASL history needed to satisfy these requirements.
